A family of four and their three dogs were allfound shot deadin their home in Romeoville, Ill., just 26 miles outside Chicago Sunday.

Huey, who was driving when police attempted to make a traffic stop, “immediately attempted to elude the officers resulting in a single car crash,” Burne said.

The car burst into flames, and officers heard what sounded like two gunshots, Burne said. Huey was found shot dead, his body slumped in the driver’s seat. A woman, who police have not identified but investigators also believe is connected to the family’s killing, was in critical condition from another gunshot wound at the time of the press conference.

When Alberto Rolón, 38, Zoraida Bartolomei, 32, and their two young sons, Adriel and Diego, were found dead inside their home, police quickly said they did not believe it to be a murder-suicide but rather a targeted attack.
