On Monday morning the Fox News show briefly aired a graphic that showed a picture of the 85-year-old alongside the dates 1933-2019 during their broadcast, essentially implying that Ginsburg had just passed away.
Co-hosts Steve Doocy and Ainsley Earhardt soon issued an apology on air,according toUSA Today.
“We need to apologize. … A technical error in the control room triggered a graphic of Ruth Bader Ginsburg with a date on it,” Doocy explained to viewers. “We don’t want to make it seem anything other than that was a mistake. That was an accident.”
Earhardt said it was a “big mistake.”

Ginsburg — after previously surviving colon and pancreatic cancer — had to undergo surgery in December toremove two cancerous nodulesin her lungs, which were found aftera fall that broke three of her ribs.
Since leaving the hospital Ginsburg has been recovering at home where she continues to work on cases before the Supreme Court, through briefs and transcripts of the oral arguments, according to a spokeswoman.
Her recuperation is going well, the spokeswoman says. The court previously said that, following her lung surgery, she was cancer free.

She got an added little boost of good news on Tuesday whenRBG,a documentary about her lifewhich features interviews with her, her family and friends, was nominated for an Academy Award for best documentary.
“We were excited to be the ones to give Justice Ginsburg the good news thatRBGhas been nominated for Best Documentary,” they said.“She congratulated us and said the nomination was ‘eminently well-deserved.’”
From their conversation, they said Ginsburg sounded “strong and cheerful.” Indefatigable even in her ninth decade, she told them “she is writing opinions and continuing to stay on top of work.”
