Pete Davidson’s mom pays tribute to his late father on 9/11

Pete Davidson’s momAmyis remembering her late husbandScott, who died on9/11.

On Monday, theSaturday Night Livealum’s mom shared several throwback photos of Scott, a New York City firefighter who died in the 2001 terrorist attacks, to mark the 22nd anniversary of the tragedy.

“Happiest days of my life and I didn’t know it 💙” she captioned theInstagram post. “Never forget and always be grateful 💙”

The snapshots included Amy and Scott sharing a hug, a young Pete trying on his father’s firefighting gear and his sister Casey smiling in her dad’s arms.

In March, Pete, now 29, recalled the way he learned his father had died during the 9/11 attacks.

He continued, “She kept telling me, ‘Dad’s at work,’ ‘He’s coming home,’ whatever. I had no idea.”

The comedian, who was seven at the time, shared that his mom “grounded” him from watching television, likely to avoid media coverage of the attacks.

“It was weird because we didn’t know he was dead for, like, three weeks,” he explained. “They were finding people, you know? They were pulling people out of s—, and there was just some sort of hope. Like, it was just up and down and nobody knew how to deal with it.”

Both Pete and his sister Casey have sincepaid tribute to their fatheron past anniversaries of the attacks.

“This year more then ever I wish you could be here. We miss you, we celebrate you and we remember you every day. Proud to be your caseygirl 💜” Caseywrote in a 2022 post, alongside a trio of images of the family’s late patriarch.

In 2015, the actor shared a series of tweetsremembering his father, laced with jokesand appreciation to friends who reached out on the day, writing, “I really appreciate it. I’m a very lucky guy.”
