Weeks after that, a second womansued Allen for sexual assault, claiming he filmed their sexual encounter without consent and continued to have unprotected sex with her after she’d revoked her previously given consent. PEOPLE confirmed that she later filed a police report with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.
The Grammy-nominated Allen has denied all allegations against him, and in Julyfiled two counterclaimsaccusing the first woman of defamation and the second of illegally stealing his cell phone.
In August, the second woman, identified only as Jane Doe 2,filed a motion to dismissAllen’s countersuit, arguing that he does not have a legal claim against her.
In a statement to PEOPLE, a member of Allen’s legal team says they look forward to “clearing Jimmie’s name” in court.
“We will leave it to the court to determine if taking something without permission is conversion (or stealing)—a lesson that most of us learned when we were young,” the statement reads. “The facts here don’t support what Jane Doe 2 is claiming, and we look forward to the legal process moving forward and clearing Jimmie’s name.”
In May, Allenshared a public apologyto Alexis, writing on social media that he was sorry “for humiliating her with my affair. I’m embarrassed that my choices have brought shame on her. That’s something that she did not deserve at all.”
In July, the singer told PEOPLE that he and his wife wereworking on their futureas a team.
“The divorce case is still pending, as my wife and I are working to resolve things together as a family,” he said.
At the time, Allen also clarified a statement he’d made earlier that day, in which he said that he had waited several months before publicly responding to the pair of lawsuits against him because he “wanted to fix my family first.”
