Nintendo announced that the movie is in development as a live-action film last Tuesday, as legendary video game designer and representative director Shigeru Miyamoto shared in a post onX(formerly known as Twitter) that he and film producer Avi Arad have been developing the movie “for many years now.”
“We have now officially started the development of the film with Nintendo itself heavily involved in the production,” he wrote in that post. “It will take time until its completion, but I hope you look forward to seeing it,”

Schafer is not the only actor whose name has been thrown in the hat to play one ofLegend of Zelda’s lead characters.Machine Gun Kelly, a noted fan of theZeldagames, shared in an Instagram Story last Tuesday thathe would like to portray Link.
“if I don’t play Link we have a problem,” he wrote in a post that has since expired from the platform.
