Riverdale has finally revealed the “ shocking ” the true behind the identity of the Black Hood , the killer who was righteously cleanse the quiet small townsfolk of sinners and ne’er do well . There were plenty of theory on who it could be , with the hopes that it would be someone right under our noses . Turns out , that was true , but not in a way that actually matter .
The midseason finale , “ Chapter Twenty - Two : Silent Night , Deadly Night ” wrapped up a lot of loose ends in a full-strength little bow . Jughead and his fellow Serpent Juniors gang up up against the Snake Charmer so that FP Jones would n’t have to deal drugs anymore ( I ’d assume it ’s not the last we ’ll see of her , but in this show who knows ) . Veronica discover out that her parents bought Pop ’s diner , but used that entropy as leverage to accomplish two goals : become a bigger part of Lodge Industries , and blackmail her parents into paying for Archie ’s dad ’s aesculapian bills .
But the self-aggrandizing story was about the Black Hood grampus . After an entire half - time of year of shock and terror ( trademark Birdemic ) , we finally learned the honest indistinguishability of the man behind the mask .

Hold up , are you serious ? The guy cable who was only in three episodes , who we only really encounter last hebdomad ? The one who was n’t connected to anyone on the show , who could be killed off without a second coup d’oeil ? That ’s the one ! Turns out , after his family had been hit when he was a tyke , Mr. Svenson had fingered the incorrect homo as the culprit , so a bunch of the great unwashed ( including Cheryl ’s nana and Betty ’s grandfather ) choose to entomb the accused human live . Overcome with guiltiness , the janitor obviously think the safe solution would be to pop a bunch of people for underage transgression to even the grade .
But wait , you might wonder , what about his centre people of color ? After the Black Hood shot his pappa , Archie made a full point about how the perpetrator ’s eyes were dark green . Archie refused to point out any suspects in a batting order alone because none of their eye colors matched . Mr. Svenson ’s optic , when heavily brighten , look kind of green . But it still seems fairly off . The show even acknowledges this , but alternatively of kick in some poor exculpation ( like he was wear contacts ) , they simply say it does n’t matter .
Archie : “ I did n’t see it . I did n’t see it in his optic . ”
Veronica : “ Forget his eyes . ”
