First off , hooray for Blue Oyster Cult . secondly , this scene is exactly what we ’ve been talking about . People have been absolutely buzz about Ricard Jenkins ’ performance . When we interview Reeves , this particular scene was really one of the first thing he wanted to talk about :

This is an effort at more POV movie make and seeing things the manner Owen might see them . We approach the pool scene from his spot of view . I trust the great unwashed see that , in reality there ’s one scene in particular where we really key out with Richard ’s grapheme [ Richard Jenkins , who play “ The Father ” ] . To me it was inspired by Dial M for Murder , the episode where they ’re going to kill Grace Kelly , but it all goes wrong . By the end you find yourself actually identifying with the killer . You feel high-risk for him by the end , that ’s kind of the visual approach we seek to take with this film . Very point of view drive .
That being said , a lot does bet on the young role player Chloe Moretz and Kodi Smit - McPhee . And we ’ll be waiting to see more from these two in the future . Until then , this brand new bill poster and snip will have to tide us over . The motion-picture show will be expel in theaters October 1st .
