The British Museum is asking the public for help to go back several slip artifacts on awebpagelaunched on Tuesday . The museum dismissed an unnamed employee over the summertime for allegedly steal artifacts and reported in an Aug. 16press releasethat an probe by the Metropolitan Police Service is underway .
Recovery specialists advised the British Museum to deduct the full detail about the stolen and damage items , it said on its website , but add together : “ The vast majority of the detail are from the Department of Greece and Rome and mainly flow into two categories : gems and jewellery . ” Some of the miss detail include gold ring and earring dating back to the Late Bronze Age ( rough between the 15th to the 11th Century BC ) and from the Hellenistic and Roman periods . The museum confirm in apress releaseon Tuesday that it has recovered 60 stolen point and identified an extra 300 that are due to be return . The recovery web page says the British Museum has registered all lose items with the Art Loss Register and has “ established an external jury of specialist , include guide figure in the sketch of treasure and jewellery , who will offer their expertness to assist us in identifying and find the lost items . ” It add that the museum is also “ actively supervise the art grocery store ” to recover the lost items .
