Not all lookup engines are created equal — and when it comes to Microsoft ’s Bing , it seems that means malicious website are happily refund far more often than by Google .
An 18 - month projectby German sovereign testing lab AV - Test revealsthat Bing returns five times as many results which link through to malware invade websites than Google . The study take a total of 40 million site provided by seven unlike search engines .
Mercifully malware was fairly rare — across the 40 million sites , AV - Test find 5,000 small-arm of malware — but the results did show that Google ’s search engine was good , at least out of those tested . Most susceptible to malware was the Russian engine Yandex , but Bing fair only a little good , throwing up 1,285 malicious solvent liken to Google ’s 272 .

divertingly , most of these malware sites rank on the ilk of Bing by using crude search engine optimisation proficiency . The researcher excuse :
[ T]hey first create a multitude of small websites and blogs before selecting the most oft used lookup terms from top word stories and using backlinks to optimise these terms for search engines .
