Ariana Grandeis still pouring her heart into her career, not her dating life.
After her surprise appearance onThe Late Late Show with James Cordenon Tuesday — whereshe performed with Filipino vocal group(and Grande superfans)TNT Boys— the singer sat down with Corden, admitting her focus is on work these days.
“I usually don’t have anything to do, other than make songs and rehearse — that’s it,” Grande, 25, said, thanking Corden for having her on the show. “Personal life, still nonexistent.”
She and ex-fiancé Peter Davidson called it quits last October, nearly five months after theSaturday Night Livestar, 25, proposed in June. Prior to that, inMay, Grande went through another breakup, with rapperMac Miller, whodied in September of a drug overdose. He was 26.

Though Grande’s had her fair share of heartbreak, she’s channeled that pain into her music.
The powerhouse vocalist releasedher latest album,Thank U, Next,to much acclaim – addressing her relationship woes in many of her songs (including the title track).
That’s a fête that hasn’t been achieved sinceThe Beatles, who, for five weeks in March and April 1964, held those spots with “Can’t Buy Me Love” at No. 1, “Twist and Shout” at No. 2, and “Do You Want to Know a Secret” at No. 3.
Drakecame close to joining these acts when he placed No. 1, No. 2, and No. 4 in July 2018 with “Nice for What,” “Nonstop” and “God’s Plan,” respectively.
Asked about the success onThe Late Late Show, Grande admitted she didn’t believe it.
“When I woke up, I thought it was an edit my fans made,” she said. “I thought it was a joke!”
“It’s really wild, my mom and I were driving around listening to The Beatles all day,” she added. “It’s so crazy. … this is so weird.”
Corden gifted Grande with a cake to celebrate, though that was about all the celebration Grande had planned. “My mom wants to take me to dinner but I think I’ll just go to the studio,” she said.
She also hinted that she was feeling a little over-exposed, joking, “I’ll take a break after this, I’ll go away for a little while, I promise. I’m tired of my voice!”
Grande droppedThank U, Next— her fifth record — in February, just six months after the release ofSweetener.
On the day it came out,Grande thanked her supporters in an emotional tweet, which she said came later than she originally anticipated.
