Noah Jupe , one of the stars of A Quiet Place , and Jaeden Martell , star of It and Knives Out , have been tapped to star in a modern day remaking of the 1987 lamia hit which starred Kiefer Sutherland , Jason Patric , Corey Haim , and Corey Feldman .
The Hollywood Reporterbroke the tidings on the film , which is being write by Randy McKinnon and directed by Jonathan Entwistle . McKinnon is currently work out on the DC celluloid Static Shock while Entwistle is screw for his streaming show , I Am Not Okay With This and The End of the F***ing World . He ’s also attach to a Power Rangers remaking .
There ’s no news on what , specifically , this edition of The Lost Boys will do differently from the original except that it ’ll be set in modernistic time . That alone will change a bunch of it considering the 1987 master copy is very , very 1987 . In that film , a single mother ( Dianne Wiest ) moves her adolescent sons Sam ( Corey Haim ) and Michael ( Jason Patric ) to fictional Santa Carla , California , aka “ the Murder Capital of the World . ” The townsfolk got that nickname in turgid part to the group of vampires who ’ve made it their family , led by the stylishDavid ( Kiefer Sutherland ) . David and his crew attack to enter Sam and Michael , who then agitate back with the help of character played by Corey Feldman , Jami Gertz , and others .

In former years , Warner Bros. hastried to accommodate the story for the small screenand even fritter away two pilot burner with Veronica Mars ’ Rob Thomas . Alas , neither one work out and The Lost Boys idiot box show never saw the visible radiation of day . That ’s a fate this film could potentially still see , but with the recognizable Jupe and Martell out front , and we can only imagine a growing cast of coolheaded multitude behind them , this definitive lamia movie could easy rise from the dead . Just as long as there are free sax solo , of course .
